Club Reopens Saturday 4 July 2020

On Saturday 4 July when we re-open it will be for members only – no guests – if you usually sign in a partner or guest encourage them to take up membership if they still wish to attend the club with you. Until we know how many member will return to use the club no children will be admitted – but this will be reviewed on a weekly basis. Things will of a necessity be a bit different to how the club operated before the shut down. We will have a dedicated telephone number for taking table bookings (with time slots) for members. If you haven’t booked you only will be allowed in if there are spaces. If you wish to book tables close together for friends or family members you will need their membership details when you book. Tables bookings will be taken not more than 1 week in advance.
All tables not occupied by 15 minutes after the booked time will be released to those queuing to get in. We have purchased additional bench tables to be placed at the rear of the club and we are waiting for parasols to be delivered. All members must swipe their door card in even if the door is already open. (this is a requirement under the Track & Trace rules) and your temperature will be assessed before you are permitted entry. If you don’t have a door card contact Keith Sparks in the office by next week to arrange for your card to be available. There will be website ordering for drinks and bar snacks – if you don’t have a smart phone there will be a tablet set up for you to place your order on. There will be a link on here for you to save as soon as this web page is live. You will need your table number and your debit card. All drinks will be delivered to your table. If you have no other way of ordering or paying for drinks there will be a single ordering point in the Lounge Bar with a designated social distanced queue. You will need to have a table number for your drinks to be delivered to so make sure you know where you are sitting before queuing at the bar. There will be a one way system to walk through the club to be adhered to as far as possible. Entrance will be through the main (front door) and exit via the Main Hall and Car Park except at closing time. We ask as responsible adults you to be aware of social distancing from other members when using toilets. The front smoking shelter will be solely for those queuing or those with a higher than usual temperature to rest for a few minutes before being re-scanned to see if they can be allowed in – Smokers are to use the smoking shelter and the area at the rear of the Main Hall. It is likely that we’ll have regular or ad hoc visits form Havant Police and representatives of the licencing department of Havant Borough Council

NOTICE TO MEMBERS  Update on Current Situation during Lockdown  June 2020   LPWMC hope you are all keeping well and staying safe during this unprecedented period following the outbreak of Covid-19. Physical and mental well-being has never been so important to all of us.   As members, you will know that the club was instructed to close on 20 March, once we are open a decision will made to review how to reimburse members for the period you have not been able to use your membership. We believe this to be the right course of action to take, to treat all members fairly and with respect and to return the customer loyalty that you have shown us. We are after all, in this together, and we will need to work collaboratively if we are to succeed.   Currently, the Government has decided that leisure facilities including pubs and clubs will not be allowed to open until 4th July at the earliest, subject to many caveats and safety conditions being met.   As your club we plan to be ready to reopen as soon as the Government permit. Covid-19 will change the way in which the leisure industry can operate post lock-down. We are taking advice and working with various governing bodies within the industry including, Greene King Brewery and Public Health England to make all necessary adjustments to ensure that the centres meet the new stringent health and safety standards. Top priority will be the safety of all users and staff in order to give confidence for everyone to return. There will be major changes to the way the club will operate upon re-opening and members will be required to play their part. There will be plenty of signage around the club to help you. Initially we may not be able to open for the same hours as previously and we ask you to watch for notices both on our Website and our business Facebook page. Details on the new operating procedures will be released closer to the time. Capacities for all bars and social activities will be. Some activities may not be able to be used straight away. We are looking at spreading out the tables and exploring the use of outdoor spaces to maximise user capacities. Committee members may not be able to sell raffle tickets on a table to table basis but may have to sell from a screened table with a social distanced queue. There will be a new norm for all of us to get used to. We have been working hard behind the scenes to add value to our service during the closure period and to that end have been completing the re-decoration of the club planned prior to shutdown but able to progress quicker with the building empty.   Prior to reopening the whole club will also have been professionally deep cleaned and then Covid 19 sanitised.   Hand sanitisers will be in place for your use on arrival and additional cleaning routines will be instigated. One-way systems with floor markings will be put in place. Some toilet facilities may be closed if social distancing cannot be maintained – eg – the narrow corridor to the toilets in the Main Hall. Plus, a queuing and exit system from toilets will be needed. Please be aware of your fellow members and maintain social distancing.   We are looking at changing the way you order your drinks to protect both the members and the bar staff. We plan to install some form of remote ordering and payment via your smart phone this will help maintain social distancing and depending on the system we use you may have table service or get a text when your order is ready to be collected from the bar.   If you do not have a smart phone separate Order Points will be positioned in the Main Hall and General Room. Staff will be protected by screens and may wear face masks as necessary.   To ensure that as little coinage as possible is handled please wherever possible pay by card, you can also preload your Door entry / Bar card and use as a means of payment  – If you wish to pay cash for a round of drinks please be prepared to have any odd change added to your card rather than be given the physical change.   Cash back will still be available from the bar. When raffle tickets are on sale please have the correct money to minimise the amount of coins the committee need to handle, also you will need to collect raffle tickets from a set point (as on a Sunday lunchtime) rather than having them sold table to table. Whilst we are closed, we have received virtually no income, although certain bills still need to be paid, therefore, depending on the time we are forced to remain closed we may need to use our reserves to remain in a fit state to re-open as soon as permitted.   We are receiving Job Retention Scheme reimbursements for the furloughed staff.   We have also received the Business Interruption Grant which we have used to clear all monies due to suppliers, maintain payments to the utility companies and retain an amount to re-stock the bars once we get a date to re-open.   More regular communications will follow as we head towards re-opening but in the meantime, stay fit and healthy and keep safe.   Stay safe!  Tricia  Banachowicz   Club Secretary
